If the key is not producing any characters or the wrong character, the Keyboard may be defective. Please test the keyboard on another computer system and if it is still experiencing the same results. Note that the wrong character display is often the result of key re-mapping, the wrong language selection, the NUMLOCK being on, or the below Word Data key corrupt issue.
If you suspect you may have re-mapped a key, test by typing in Notepad as it utilizes the standard Windows Mapping. This test bypasses any key re-mapping that may have been set in Word, for example, so if you get the desired character in Notepad you have probably re-mapped the key.
