What to do if computer is asking for an 8 digit passcode

If you are getting no passcode, or quickly disappearing passcode please see solution below. We have seen anomalies with Windows 10, not specific to our products but in general. This is a known/documented problem with Windows 8/10. This is not an unknown problem with Windows 10 on a number of Microsoft support forums. The best solution we have found for this involves plugging in a USB keyboard to to generate your code. Generally this procedure will clear up the underlying problem. We’ve outlined the steps below:

  1. Connect a USB keyboard
  2. Turn off the Goldtouch GTP-0044W Keyboard
  3. Power on keyboard and Press Connect so the keyboard goes into pairing mode – Blue light flashing.
  4. Go to Device menu and “Add a device”. Select Goldtouch Keyboard.
  5. On a connected USB keyboard, input an 8 digit number (for example, enter 46576879) and hit “next”.
  6. Then on the Goldtouch Bluetooth Keyboard enter the same 8 digit number (for example, enter 46576879) and press Enter.

It should start connecting and clear up the underlying problem.

What to do if computer is asking for a 4 digit PIN

If you are getting no passcode and your system is asking for a PIN, please see solution below. This is a Windows issue, not specific to our products but in general. The below is a solution we found on Microsoft’s Support Site regarding this problem. This is a known/documented problem with Windows 8/10. This is not an unknown problem with Windows 10 on a number of Microsoft support forums. It involves plugging in a USB keyboard to generate your code. Generally this procedure will clear up the underlying problem.

  1. Connect a USB keyboard
  2. Turn off the Goldtouch GTP-0044W Keyboard
  3. Power on keyboard and Press Connect so the keyboard goes into pairing mode – Blue light flashing.
  4. Go to Device menu and “Add a device”. Select Goldtouch Keyboard.
  5. On a USB keyboard, input a 4 digit PIN number (for example, enter 1010) and hit “Connect”.
  6. Then on the Goldtouch Bluetooth Keyboard enter the same 4 digit number (for example, enter 1010) and press Enter.

It should make start connecting and clear up the underlying problem.
